Narrative Description of Project: (Actual assignment, nature of activities performed and location) The main purpose this assignment was to survey/study to working modality and transparency of local government and enhance the capacity of local citizens; especially women, dalit and marginalized groups, to make the service providers i.e. local bodies more accountable to them. This purpose was achieved by critically examining the expenditure patterns of government grant given to the project VDCs on the one hand and making the local citizens aware of the provisions made in VDC grant as well as their roles and responsibilities in local development efforts. The project was pilot tested in 3 VDCs of Rasuwa District as mention above. During project implementation social accountability tools such as public discussion/hearing, public audit and information collection tools such as review of documents/interaction consultation meetings and focus group discussions were utilized. The actual services provided by the staffs in this project are outline below. |
